Connect links

A page on HivePost with your workspace's name, where your customer connects their own account. The account joins your workspace, tagged with your id for the customer.

  1. Add your domain under Developers → Connect links → Allowed return domains.
  2. Create a link with external_id (your customer id) and an https return_url on that domain or a subdomain of it.
  3. Send the customer to url. It is only in that answer.
  4. They sign in to Bluesky with an app password. We use it once and never keep it.
  5. They come back to return_url?status=connected&account_id=…&external_id=…, or status=cancelled.
  6. We send account.connected with your external_id. Find the account later with GET /v1/accounts?external_id=….

Rules

  • A link works once and expires after 7 days.
  • Statuses: open, used, expired, revoked. Revoke an open link with DELETE or on the Connect links screen.
  • Only networks open in the API: Bluesky today. Others answer 403 network_not_available.
  • A return_url off your domains answers 422 return_url_not_allowed.
  • Test links check the form but never contact Bluesky.
